Bad Sines

Guess the amplitudes of 8 sine waves with different frequencies that can combine to form a complex graph. This game aims to help you develop a feel (from a visual standpoint) for how functions can be decomposed into their frequency components, which is the core idea behind Fourier and Fourier-like transforms (used in a wide array of applications, from MRIs to image compression to quantum mechanics to signal analysis). An in-game tutorial will walk you through the details of how to play.
